Position:   Associate Manufacturing Engineer
Location:   Paola, KS
Classification:   Full-Time, Exempt

Job Summary


The Associate Manufacturing Engineer position will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer in improving product flow and throughput, procuring proper equipment and tooling, designing fixtures and dies, and assisting in the development and maintenance of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.


Main Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve product flow and increase throughput by evaluating plant layout and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program that covers all facilities and equipment.
  • Help in the preparation of specifications, evaluate supplier quotations, and develop requisitions for equipment.
  • Assist in the design and/or procurement of the necessary tooling, fixtures, and dies.
  • Maintain equipment inventory list and prepare & update anticipated capital expenditure list for all facilities.
  • Periodically perform time studies and payback analyses.
  • Work closely with maintenance and plant personnel to resolve equipment and facility problems in a timely manner.
  • Participate in general process improvements and initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • One or more years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred.
  • One or more years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a heavy metal fabrication industry is a plus.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong mechanical abilities.
  • Strong judgement and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles and Tools preferred.
